The expanding horizon of online technology has brought a paradigm shift in the way we use to function be it entertainment, communication or work. Adding one more area that got substantially impacted by technology is the education system.
Needless to say, the technology has defied all geographical barriers and brought distantly located courses at your doorstep.
At present we are in a situation which is in its transient phase and the complete integration of various other kinds of learning opportunity within the traditional education framework is yet to take place. The time of its completion is left on assumption as the process to initiated or complete will vary from institution to institution.
Some people think that the digitization of the education system is a destructive process and will wipe out the conventional methodologies of teaching and replace them with artificial articles of new digital age.
Online learning methodology has evolved as a next stage learning experience however it is soon to be superseded by technological innovations. The pedagogy section will get an opportunity to be trained and impart immersive learning, adaptive learning, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, framing collaborative strategies for research, academic projects, wearable technologies and skills to work in a team.
The debate on the prospects of education should keep away from the clashing of philosophies and methodologies. It is difficult to segregate between pro and anti-technology lobbies that are pining for pedagogical dominance. The truth is that it is very vague area to decide discreetly. Practically the students care less to abolish that already happened in fact they are more interested in the events that are going to take place in future and want to be part of the opportunities that will be created in that process.
At present few people still think that online learning is not the exact and right way of imparting education. Apparently, they think that creates poor relation between the student and the teacher. There are online courses that are provided by poorly-known schools that invite floods of the application by keeping the shortlisting criterion low and making large size classrooms to accommodate the bigger crowd of students.
Contrary to this notion few good universities have acceptive the online learning culture with high spirits. For example, education institutes like Wharton has focused majorly on utilizing it as a mode of sourcing new students which they want to bring into residential programmers. In fact, Stanford has gone a step further in marketing itself by uploading a part of classroom lecture video online.
Hence hat we observe is the extensive use of internet in a restricted experimental or marketing tactics. However, there is very little evidence especially among the bigger educational institutions designing their programs that are exclusively developed for online aspirants.
This digital wave is almost sweeping away the world education industry and throwing a tough challenge to the business schools to put up with the breed of students that have grown swiping, googling and texting. The people whose career will hugely depend on the technology.
