Oya o come close let me tell you how GitHub Field Day Abuja went
My name is Theresa Agbo-Inedu, I'm a student of Taraba State University and the Google Developers Group on Campus lead
so the event started with the arrival of guests from different parts of the country
I saw my coursemates, they came from Taraba State, Jalingo π₯Ή
I was so excited to see them π₯Ήπ
this was me asking them why they didn't tell me they were coming π
We had our boss Rasheed give us a welcome & keynote speech and he was giving a demo on how to use the GitHub Field Day umbrella π
Next up was the icebreaker and breakfast. We got to know each other
we joined the queue, and we were still having fun on the lineπ
while having breakfast we had a breakout session for community leaders, aspiring community leaders, and for community members
this was group for community leaders and it was lead by Mr Stephen Edache, a software engineer π₯ π
This was for aspiring leads. It was led by Miss Olayinka Atobiloyeπ₯ GitHub Campus expert for Unilag
And the last group was for supportive community members
It was led by Mr John Okekeπ the CEO of Sandlip
after the interesting breakout session, with a standing ovation we welcomed a legend π π₯π
Mr Rasheed introduced us to this legend Mr Kingsley (Obinna) Nworie
The first GitHub Field Day Africa organizer, But he is attending his first field day as he was attacked few days to the event he organised and was in hospital while the field day was going on.
next was a discussion between Dr. Oluwaseun A. Ojerinde (lecturer at FutMina) and miss Roheemat Mustapha titled: Collaboration with School Management in Building a Successful Community
he deliveredπ₯π₯π₯
Here I was asking a question on how to avoid clash between community events and classes
he took questions from other members
It was time for games and Mr Abas AbdulAzeez anchored it
we were asked to do a fist bump or handshake while using a word to describe how the event has been so farπ€ mine was amazing π€π€
This was Campus Expert Program Fireside Chat, anchored by Salim Oyinola, the brain behind Beyond the Classroom These campus experts shared their experiences with us. It was inspiring π₯π
Break/Lunch time ππππ
the organizers really prepared for us and we didn't pay a dime to attend it
taking pictures while waiting for our turnππ
had Mr Stephen Edache speak to us about Remarkable Leader
this is a slide from his presentation
gifts were given to winners of the game
the event was coming to an end and Boss Lucky Joe came on stage
