Deploy an Information agent by using Copilot template

Hello all Power enthusiasts, welcome to my another blog. In today’s fast-paced digital world, the ability to efficiently manage and deploy information agents is crucial for businesses and developers alike. Microsoft Copilot Studio offers a powerful template that simplifies this process, enabling you to create intelligent, responsive agents with ease. In this blog, we’ll walk you through the steps to deploy an information agent using the Copilot template, highlighting key features and best practices to ensure your agent is both effective and user-friendly. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or just starting out, this guide will provide you with the insights and tools you need to harness the full potential of Copilot. Let’s dive in and explore how you can transform your information management with this innovative solution.

Anyone with no prior knowledge of technology can complete this demo with the trial license of Microsoft Copilot Studio.

Objectives:-

Tasks

  1. Create an Information copilot.
  2. Enable Generative AI.
  3. Add/Edit Topics.
  4. Test.
  5. Provide accessibility to the external users and publish it to Demo website.

Prerequisites:-

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you set up to configure an Information agent copilot.

Task 1: Create an Information copilot.

In this task, you are going to create a copilot by using available template in Microsoft copilot studio.

  • Log in to Microsoft Copilot Studio.
  • In the Home pane, please select Website Q&A from the Start with a template section.

  • Enter the name as InformationAgent, if you want to change the icon, you can change otherwise no need to change the icon.

  • In the description section you can see it already filled, if you want edit you can edit otherwise keep as it is. Also same for Instructions section as well.

  • Knowledge sources collaborate with generative responses in Copilot Studio. Knowledge-based published copilots rely on the preset knowledge sources to ground them. Knowledge can be added at the copilot level, on the Knowledge page, or at the topic level, using a generative replies node in a copilot topic. Knowledge sources can be contributed to copilots before they are generated, after they have been created, or to a generative responses subject node. Here we are using a template so you can see already a website link added into the Knowledge section. You can add multiple links based on which kind of information this copilot will give to the user. Here, I have added a link for important days: https://www.jagranjosh.com/general-knowledge/national-and-international-important-days-1561379458-1 Click on Add Knowledge button, Add Knowledge screen will open, select Public Website and enter the above link and click Add and again click on Add button. This website link added as a knowledge source now.

  • After adding the knowledge source please select Create from the top right corner. Your Information agent copilot is created now. You can click on settings from the top right corner.

Task 2 : Enable Generative AI.

  • From the settings screen select Generative AI > Generative (preview) - Use generative AI to respond with the best combination of actions, topics, and knowledge > High - More precise > Save.

Task 3 : Add/Edit Topics.

  • Select Topics and select the Conversation Start topic. Then edit the message as I am your Information agent copilot instead of Website Q&A copilot and select Save. Please check the picture below:

Task 4 : Test.

  • You can test your copilot agent by clicking on Test from the top right corner and enter your prompts there. It will retrieve the answers along with some links. Below is an example:

  • Go to Settings, then select Security then select Authentication

Image description

  • Select No Authentication and select Save as per the below image:

  • Click on Save again on the Save this configuration dialogue box.

  • After saving the configuration, you can close the settings window.

disappeared now, please select Demo Website. Enter the message and
select Save. Close the side screen and publish your copilot by
    clicking on Publish button.

  • After publishing it, please click on Demo Website link.
