This is a submission for the Coze AI Bot Challenge: Bot Innovator.
What I Built
I am currently in DBT, and have found that after learning skills, it can be difficult to remember exactly which one to use. (Huge credit to the people who put their time effort and expertise into this therapy and making the workbook I used). There are a lot of acronyms in DBT, and I often forget or have to look up which would be most effective. I made this chat bot to (hopefully) help brainstorm on how and when to use DBT skills important to practice mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness and emotional regulation, in a more specific way than a general LLM model. Upon some research online, it seems like there is a need, somewhat, for reliable DBT resources, or at least help with those out there. There are already many online, and I hope this chatbot could just provide another avenue to find those resources and also access them way easier.

Your Configuration
I just used GPT-4, a copy of The Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills Workbook, by Matthew McKay, PhD, Jeffrey Brantley, MD, Jeffrey C Wood, PsyD. I also added databases for keeping track of activities and positive affirmations, and a plugin that uses literary searches. I always find it helpful to understand the science behind therapies and different supplemental things you can do to help your mental health.
Journey
At the end of the day, this whole process was pretty simple. I not only wanted to help people acquaint themselves with DBT skills but also have ideas for different affirmations and science-backed articles to look into. Other than that, I wanted to keep it pretty simple so it's not too overwhelming for whoever using it. I wanted to make the bot less superfluous in words and more concise and that seemed to be a challenge. I would like to, next, do more research on how to make mental health chatbots better. I enjoy reading things that are more concise. I hope to add more workflows for more specific situations that the bot could possibly handle.
