Hello again everyone ❤❤❤! Hope you're all doing well. I've been super busy these past two days with an assignment for my advanced web development course, which left me with little time to write a blog post. As part of the assignment, i have to deep dive into markdown language. so i decided to write a blog post about what i learned about markdown language. What is Markdown?
Markdown is a text-to-HTML conversion tool for web writers. It allows you to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, then convert it to well-formatted HTML. For more details, check out the Markdownguide website.
Why developers use markdown?

Table of contents in markdown
For every proper documentation, we need a table of contents. It is easy to create a table of contents in markdown. Here is an example:

If you click this link, you will be redirected to the top of the page. This is a very useful feature for users who want to quickly navigate through the documentation.
Few things to note for Table of contents in markdown:
1. Follow Anchor ID Generation Rules
Markdown parsers automatically generate anchor IDs from headings. To ensure links in your ToC work, follow these rules:
- Convert text to lowercase.
- Replace spaces with hyphens (
-
) - Anchor IDs should be hyphenated
- Remove special characters (like
?
,!
,#
, etc.).

2. Avoid Duplicate Section Names
If multiple headings have the same name, Markdown parsers usually append a unique number (e.g., -1, -2) to their IDs. Avoid this by making your section titles unique.

Arrange the ToC to match the document's hierarchy, using indentation for subsections:
- Top-level sections are unindented.
- Subsections are indented.

at the 2nd column.

HTML in markdown
Yes, you can add HTML in the markdown. But, it is not recommended. It is better to use the HTML tags in your HTML file.

Audio and Video in markdown
Markdown itself doesn’t natively support embedding audio and videos, but you can use HTML or platform-specific extensions to add audio and videos in Markdown.

To add a methamatical expression in markdown, you can use the following syntax:
