Regarding re:Invent 2023, it was my second year in the raw and was terrific.
I am part of a fantastic community, the AWS Community Builders
The AWS Community Builders program offers technical resources, education, and networking opportunities to AWS technical enthusiasts and emerging thought leaders who are passionate about sharing knowledge and connecting with the technical community.
Interested AWS builders should apply to the program to build relationships with AWS product teams, AWS Heroes, and the AWS community.
Throughout the program, AWS subject matter experts will provide informative webinars, share insights — including information about the latest services — as well as best practices for creating technical content, increasing reach, and sharing AWS knowledge across online and in-person communities. The program will accept a limited number of members per year. All AWS builders are welcome and encouraged to apply.
For me, it is all about building relationships, and this year, AWS provided us with the Community Hub.
In partnership with the Modern Applications Community we're doing a four day buy-out of Buddy V's Ristorante, located conveniently inside the Venetian, where we'll be hosting an all-encompassing experience exclusively for our program members. Whether you're a Hero, Community Builder, and/or a User Group Leader, you'll be able to join us at the Hub Monday through Thursday during the day. You'll have opportunities to meet, mingle, get food/drinks, and network with each other and service team members during re:Invent week.
It is incredible how much we can learn from simply engaging with others. I find great pleasure in conversing with people, particularly when discussing Serverless. Through the AWS Community Builder program, I have had the opportunity to share my experiences and connect with individuals who have encountered similar obstacles. The Community Hub has provided an exceptional environment to fully engage with the Heroes, Builders, and service team. I never expected to be recognized or to have others mention that they follow me on Twitter or have seen me speak. But what was truly remarkable was my sense of belonging and connection. This community has inspired me to share my knowledge and travel throughout Europe to spread my passion for Serverless.
I describe myself as a person who loves interacting with people and thrives on tackling challenges (also shy). I was determined to create something unique and extraordinary to set me apart from the regular "Hello World" enthusiasts when I joined the program. My passion for using AWS Serverless services has led me to explore complex scenarios where traditional approaches don't cut it. Whether writing an article or speaking at a conference, I always strive to share my real-life experiences, highlighting the limitations and possible solutions to the problems I've faced. I constantly face challenges but enjoy them and always strive to overcome them.
This year's event was an eye-opener in many ways, revealing exciting new insights I can't wait to explore further!
- LLRT - was a great DEMO
- S3 Express One Zone storage class
- Amazon DynamoDB zero-ETL integration with Amazon OpenSearch Service
- AWS Lambda functions now scale 12 times faster when handling high-volume requests
- AWS Lambda introduces new controls to make it easier to search, filter, and aggregate Lambda function logs
- AWS SDK for Rust is now generally available
- Kafka and EventBridge better together
I want to express my gratitude to all the wonderful people who spent time chatting with me, laughing alongside me (or even at me!), and making me feel included.
You all are amazing! I'm looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Your friendly AWS Community Builder.
