- Don’t equate modesty with lack of expertise.
- Don’t equate chattiness with expertise.
- Don’t equate silence with lack of leadership.
- Don’t equate loudness with leadership.
- Don’t equate directness with rudeness.
- Don’t equate questions with insubordination.
- Don’t equate questions with disagreement.
- Don’t equate politeness with agreement.
- Don’t be a time hog.
- Don’t wing it. Be prepared.
- Be considerate.
- Don’t be submissive.
- Don’t be domineering.
- Don’t jump to conclusion. Instead, seek clarification.
- Have a conversation — listen, reason, speak, repeat.
- Don’t interrupt when someone is speaking.
