Founded by ex-Google DeepMind researchers and AAA gaming veterans, the Edmonton-based company aims to transform game development with its AI-powered behavior engine. This engine integrates runtime decision-making into characters, environments, and game systems, enabling developers to create more immersive and dynamic experiences. Set to launch widely in 2025, the engine has been refined with input from several AAA studios, offering features like minor improvisation, emergent gameplay, and high-level gamekeeper systems.

Lunar.dev Releases the 2024 State of API Consumption Management Report
Lunar.dev has unveiled its first report, “The 2024 State of API Consumption Management," which explores trends and challenges in managing third-party APIs based on data from over 200 companies. The report highlights the significant time and effort organizations spend on API maintenance, the security risks and performance issues posed by third-party APIs, and the lack of appropriate tools for proactive management. Key findings include that 57% of engineering teams struggle with scaling API usage, 88% of companies spend resources on fixing API issues weekly, and 62% consider API maintenance a low priority. It also recommends streamlining monitoring and maintenance and investing in egress management tools to enhance API performance and cost-effectiveness.

Bitwise Donates 10% of Ethereum ETF Profits to Support Developers
Bitwise Asset Management has introduced its Bitwise Ethereum ETF (ETHW) on the New York Stock Exchange, marking a significant milestone in the US Web3 market. This new fund provides direct exposure to Ethereum, the second-largest Web3 ecosystem by market cap, and commits to donating 10% of ETHW profits to the Protocol Guild and PBS Foundation, which support Ethereum’s core development. Following the success of Bitwise’s Bitcoin ETF, ETHW features a competitive 0.20% management fee and a fee waiver for the first $500 million in assets.
