COVID-19 TRACKER is a website I decided to start building a couple of weeks ago to track the statistics of the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic world wide.
This is my little contribution when the world came together remotely as one against this plague that is ravaging mankind.
Why I built it?
Information is said to bring light. If people are informed, they know what steps to take next - either to be more careful or to be less tensed (we are really looking forward to this).
Design
COVID-19 TRACKER is made in such a way that it is easy to navigate even for a non-techie.
It is made with 3 colors basically - white, black and red. These colors symbolizes death in some places, life in other places and love in most placs. The idea is that even though there is danger of death at this time, we can look forward with hope for life as we stand together in love.
Why You should check it out and share?
It is built with all simplicity in mind and updated every 15 minutes which means you do not miss out on any news around the world.
Features of the website
The website is made up of 4 features as at the time of this report:
Global Report
This feature provides the global statistics of the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. Check it out here
Countries Report
In this page, each country's statistics is provided individually and they are sorted according to the number of confirmed cases ranging from the highest to the lowest. Check it out here
World Most Trending News
Here, you will find 10 most trending news in the world. It is important to note that some of these news gives hope. Check it out here
Search Box
The search feature makes it easy to locate a country of choice as the list of countries is quit enormous. It appears on every page in the navigation bar. Check it out here
Acknowledgement
I am expressing appreciation to the following open source tools and of course, the whole DEV Community.
Conclusion
Hopefully, there will be more improvements on the website in the future. I am open to ideas in the comment section.
