Node v15, Hacktoberfest Controversy, Tech Issues on U.S. Ballots, & more on the DevNews podcast!

Season two of the DevNews podcast is finally here!

A quick refresher: We're a DEV original podcast and news show for developers by developers. I'm Josh Puetz, Principal Engineer at Forem and DevNews co-host alongside @saronyitbarek, Founder of CodeNewbie and Disco. Each week, we strive to cut through the noise of software development news to bring you the most relevant stories for folks just like you in this always-interesting industry we call home.

I'll be previewing the episodes in weekly posts here on DEV.

Hint: You can follow DevNews to get episode notifications right in your feed.

In the premiere episode of season two, Saron and I discuss a variety of topics including...

  • Oculus Quest 2
  • A fun use of the McDonald's API
  • Microsoft Edge
  • a liiiitle something you might have heard of called the U.S. election. More specifically, some tech-related issues on ballots across the country.

We were also joined by Senior Software Engineer and Node.js TSC Member at Red Hat, Beth Griggs, and Michael Dawson, Node.js lead for Red Hat and IBM. They were kind enough to chat with us about the release of Node v15 🎉

Catch the first episode of DevNews season two right here on DEV — or subscribe on your platform of choice! Plus, if you leave us a review, we'll send you a free pack of thank-you stickers. Details here.
