Celebrating Diversity in Tech: Reflections on we_coded 2024

Hey everyone!

we_coded 2024 has been an incredible journey of sharing unique insights, empowering one another, and building community on DEV.

While our "official" month-long celebration of gender equity in tech is nearly at an end, our work in this space is ongoing. DEV is an inclusive and supportive platform where developers gather every day of the year to collaborate and openly share about software development.

Let's take a moment to recap some of the highlights and express gratitude to everyone who made this campaign a success!

Standout Contributions

We are so grateful for the amazing contributions from ALL participants. Your stories, insights, and ideas have made a significant impact, sparked meaningful discussions, created aha moments, and in some cases made some of us feel a little less alone in our experiences. Thank you for sharing your voices with us.

Here are just a few of the many significant contributions shared over the past month:

#wecoded

we_coded is a celebration of individuals who are underrepresented and otherwise marginalized in software development on the basis of gender: including women, transgender, nonbinary, gender non-conforming, and two spirit people.

Highlight on Feministech

In the spirit of we_coded, we also interviewed Feministech, our first ever Featured Organization of The Month! Feministech is instrumental in promoting diversity, inclusion, and empowerment within our community. Let's give a round of applause to Feministech for all that they do in our community!
