Virtink: A Lightweight Virtualization Add-on for Kubernetes

GitHub - smartxworks/virtink: Lightweight Virtualization Add-on for Kubernetes

$ kubectl get pod vm-k3s-01-bgg45 -o jsonpath='{.status.podIP}'  ✔ 
10.42.2.6   
$ kubectl get pod vm-k3s-02-qh7c8 -o jsonpath='{.status.podIP}'  ✔ 
10.42.0.7   
$ kubectl get pod vm-k3s-03-22px2 -o jsonpath='{.status.podIP}'

GitHub - smartxworks/knest: Kubernetes-in-Kubernetes Made Simple

$ knest create quickstart

kubeadmcontrolplane.controlplane.cluster.x-k8s.io/quickstart-cp created
virtinkmachinetemplate.infrastructure.cluster.x-k8s.io/quickstart-cp created
machinehealthcheck.cluster.x-k8s.io/quickstart-cp-unhealthy-5m created
machinedeployment.cluster.x-k8s.io/quickstart-md-0 created
kubeadmconfigtemplate.bootstrap.cluster.x-k8s.io/quickstart-md-0 created
virtinkmachinetemplate.infrastructure.cluster.x-k8s.io/quickstart-md-0 created
machinehealthcheck.cluster.x-k8s.io/quickstart-md-0-unhealthy-5m created
Waiting for control plane to be initialized...
cluster.cluster.x-k8s.io/quickstart condition met
Cluster "quickstart" set.
Your cluster "quickstart" is now accessible with the kubeconfig file "~/.kube/knest.quickstart.kubeconfig"

$ kubectl --kubeconfig ~/.kube/knest.quickstart.kubeconfig get pods -n kube-system

$ knest delete quickstart

Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

$ knest scale quickstart 3:3

=> CONTROL_PLANE_MACHINE_COUNT:WORKER_MACHINE_COUNT
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

knest demo

  • Volumes persistants
  • Volumes de données CDI
  • Support ARM64
  • Migration en direct des VM
  • Passage de NIC SR-IOV
  • Passthrough GPU
  • Placement de processeurs dédiés
  • Connexion à chaud des périphériques VM

À suivre !
