I'm an experienced java for web developer who has probably forgotten all I knew about PHP, however with the more strings-to-the-bow mentality I wondered what people's thoughts were on creating a new web project in Java or learning PHP and coding in that.
The project I'm thinking is a front end (which I'll probably use as an excuse to hone my flailing Angular skills) and back end with some persistence for data such as a MySQL database.
Which option is cheaper hosting wise, which option makes more sense for a fairly trivial project like this?
