Traditionally, these types of applications have lagged behind in terms of adopting the latest technologies. And while that narrative is starting to change, there is still a way to go. In my article, I'll outline a few ways that Azure Functions can be useful to the enterprise or LOB developer, such as Experimenting with a new language in a low-risk way, making Logic Apps friendlier, automating maintenance and support checks and building Proof of Concepts.

What makes Azure Durable Functions are powerful are their ability to remember the state of an API even after the request is complete. This means you can go back to the API at a later time and track how the state has evolved over time. A good example for this are building timers and notifications.
