A holiday story of AWS Community Builders, this is the Pubudu Jayawardana's edition, check out the other posts from my fellow AWS Community Builders on why they love the program and learn more about them too!
What surprises you most about the community builders program?
Everyone here is super nice and very helpful. There are builders from different backgrounds, knowledge levels and roles, and everyone is willing to share their knowledge and help each other at their best.
Find out more about the AWS CB program here: https://aws.amazon.com/developer/community/community-builders/
What’s your background and your experience with AWS?
I am a developer and a devops person. I have experience in developing and managing production workloads in AWS, specially in Serverless.
What’s the biggest benefit you see from the program?
Biggest benefit is to get to know the people. I have got friends all over the world thanks to this program. Also, I got opportunities to speak in events, write more and more blog posts, learn more and share knowledge as this program encourages them a lot.
What’s the next swag item that you would like to get?
AWS Community Builder sneakers 😉
What are you eating for dinner today? Share the recipe!
As a Sri Lankan (although I have lived long enough in the Netherlands), rice is one of the favorite dishes I love to have. My preference is a fried rice that can prepare easily similar to this: https://foodvoyageur.com/chicken-fried-rice
Is there anything else you would like to say about the community builders program in 2022?
So far, AWS Community Builders program has given me a lot of opportunities to improve not only my technical knowledge in AWS, but soft skills too. This definitely helped me personally to give back more to the community.
Thanks a lot Jason Dunn - the AWS CB Program Manager and all of the management team (sorry, it will be a long list if I add them all here 😉) who are dedicated to make this community better and better every day!
Looking forward to an AWSome 2023 ahead.
